I thought this photo of a bathroom that I recently finished as part of a whole-house remodel was appropriate for the season. The color scheme for the bath and other elements of the décor in this house was in part inspired by the colors of the winter season—the sparkle of ice and white snow in the sunlight.

People often ask where I get ideas for a redesign. It’s not uncommon for me to start with a color scheme that appears to reflect the client’s tastes. In this instance I worked for many months on a very extensive remodel of an entire house. The inspiration for the color scheme that is reflected throughout the house is this piece of beautiful granite that the clients chose as a countertop for their large kitchen island.
