People often ask where I get ideas for a redesign. It’s not uncommon for me to start with a color scheme that appears to reflect the client’s tastes. In this instance I worked for many months on a very extensive remodel of an entire house. The inspiration for the color scheme that is reflected throughout the house is this piece of beautiful granite that the clients chose as a countertop for their large kitchen island.

The various shades that can be seen in the granite were used as inspiration for paint colors, furniture, stonework for fireplaces and bathrooms, and accessories. As a result, the colors throughout the house have a strong coherence, which brings a sense of unity and harmony.
